There are numerous factors contributing to the damage of the outer layer of the skin.

While we can sometimes cause damage ourselves, many times it’s beyond our control.

Most Common Causes

  • Harsh skincare routines
  • Cosmetic products that disrupt pH balance
  • After using acids, retinoids, or Vitamin C
  • After peeling or mask treatments
  • After various laser procedures

Environmental Factors

  • Sun exposure
  • Lack of moisture
  • Wind
  • Prolonged exposure to chlorine

All of these factors weaken the protective outer layer called the “Epidermis.” When this layer becomes weakened and damaged, the skin becomes more vulnerable to UV rays, pollution, and bacterial attacks.

Symptoms of Damaged Barrier

  • Dryness
  • Itchiness
  • Rough or dull skin texture
  • Redness
  • Visible veins

In such cases, it’s essential to apply creams containing supportive and soothing ingredients to aid in barrier repair.

  • Zinc
  • Vitamin B5
  • Vitamin E
  • Ceramides
  • Squalene
