Niacinamide (B3 Vitamin)

Niacinamide suppresses sebum (oil) production, making it advisable for those with combination, oily, and acne-prone skin to include it in their skincare routine.

It aids in reducing the appearance of pores and tightening the skin.

It has anti-inflammatory properties.

It preserves and moisturizes the skin barrier by preventing transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and increasing ceramide production. This characteristic makes it a good alternative for individuals who cannot tolerate retinoids.

Effective in addressing surface-level wrinkles.

Additionally, it balances skin tone by reducing pigmentation.

Niacinamide is a safe and effective antioxidant in skincare, with low potential for causing irritation even at high concentrations.

Therefore, it can be comfortably incorporated into the skincare routines of sensitive, dry, and rosacea-prone skin.

However, my recommendation for those new to it is to start with a low concentration (around 2%) to minimize the possibility of irritation and gradually increase it to higher concentrations (up to 10%).

As long as the pH is above 5, it can be combined with other skincare products. It is not photosensitizing and can be used both in day and night skincare routines.
